about us

Purebred Nubian Dairy Goats and Dairy Goat Products here in the DFW Area of North Texas…

Our Mission

Our mission is to raise Nubian dairy goats that conform to the American Dairy Goat Association scorecard, produce high-quality and high-quantity milk, and hold up structurally and functionality for a long lifetime.

Our Values

We value transparency and honesty. We strive to build lifelong connections through always doing the right thing for the good of our family, our animals, and our clients and colleauges.

Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal.

Herd Health

We take our health seriously…

We take heard health very seriously as we do quality of life and overall animal wellbeing. Our farm is located on five beautiful acres in North Texas where we manage the land to provide for better grazing and parasite prevention.

CAE Annual Testing

We test annually for CAE and we have never had a positive animal in the herd. We do not test for CL but we are cautious on outside interactions with animals, where our shoes have been, interactions at shows, etc. We have never had a CL positive animal on the property.

GS6 Testing & Management

We also take very GS6 very seriously. We do have a couple of carrier does and if you choose to purchase a RiverGrace animal to add to your herd we will discuss options. We realize that others manage this issue differently so we will work with you to choose the best option.

Beginning in 2022, ALL bucks sold will be DNA tested and GS6 tested (unless we have verifiable testing on BOTH parents). We will NEVER use a carrier buck or sell a carrier buck. All carrier bucks are wethered and sold for 4H/FFA market projects.
For doe sales, advertised sales prices for reservations are for GS6 NORMAL kids only. If you place a reservation on a carrier doe and the resulting kid is a carrier, we will either return your deposit, transfer the funds to the purchase of another animal/semen, offer a discount (does only), or hold it over for the following year. The choice is completely up to you. Keep in mind, a GS6 carrier simply carries the gene for GS6 and is a perfectly healthy animal in that regard. It would be no different than a doe carrying the gene for an extra teat, while presenting normal teats herself. Fortunately, through genetic testing, we can know if an animal carries the GS6 gene. We understand that everyone manages this issue differently and we respect that. Our goal is to slowly weed it out of our genome through NEVER using or selling carrier bucks, being informed on does in our own herd, and testing kids from those does. Our carrier does are some of our oldest, but have also contributed a significant foundation to our herd. We hope to have a completely carrier free herd (with the exception of those old does in retirement) in the very near future.

Parasite Prevention and Management

We provide free choice loose mineral in addition to quality feed and alfalfa and grass hay. We copper bolus 2x per year. All kids are raised on a strict daily coccidia management program which consists of Calf Pro Medicated before transitioning to medicated feed. We vaccinate for enterotoxemia and tetanus and pneumonia. When purchasing a RiverGrace kid, please talk to us about our vaccination schedule (if we don’t bring it up first).
